Students who come to Durham Tech don't get a sports team to rally around. They don't get an exceptionally beautiful or elaborate campus to gaze at as they walk from one class to another (although the campus is maintained with great pride and care). They don't get the endless social opportunities students find at larger, residential institutions of higher learning.

But students at Durham Tech do get high-quality, affordable instruction in small, personal classes from skilled professionals who care deeply about nurturing the intellectual, personal, and professional growth of their students. They get a lot of tender loving care.

With that emphasis and charge in mind, Durham Tech is proud to house the Teaching-Learning Center (TLC) - a faculty initiative for excellence and innovation in instruction and learning support - because learning matters at Durham Tech.
