On! You Can Do It! Learn to Teach and Assess Writing in Non-English
Courses
Do you ever say to yourself, "What can I reasonably expect
from my students in terms of writing? This isn't an English
class, after all!" Or, "I have my students write papers

to grade them. I just...sort of...grade on effort." The
multidisciplinary panel presented ideas about successfully constructing
and assessing writing assignments for your non-English courses
in a March 2006 Teaching-Learning session.
